MtLocalGoodies is a directory that helps you find verified local businesses in Malta and Gozo. We do not sell goods, take orders or handle payments, so there is nothing for you to return to us. This page explains what that means for you as a visitor, and sets out the billing and cancellation terms for a business membership. Any question, email info@mtlocalgoodies.com.

1. We are a directory, not a shop

Everything you might buy, book or arrange happens directly with the business you found on MtLocalGoodies, on their own terms and through their own channels. Because we are never the seller and never take your payment, consumer rules on distance selling, the 14-day right of withdrawal, and returns of goods do not apply to us. There is simply no order with MtLocalGoodies to cancel or refund.

2. If you bought something from a listed business

Your purchase is a contract between you and that business. If you want to return an item, cancel a booking or ask for a refund, contact the business directly, the same way you first reached them. Their own returns and refund policy applies, alongside the statutory rights EU and Maltese consumer law gives you when buying from them. If you cannot resolve it with the business and it concerns a listing on our directory, tell us at info@mtlocalgoodies.com and we will look into the listing, though we cannot force a refund on the business’s behalf.

3. Business membership: billing

Businesses appear in the directory by taking a membership. A basic listing is free; a Verified Storefront is €99 a year (or €12 a month) and the Founding Member rate is €59 a year for the first 100 businesses. The exact price and billing cycle are confirmed at sign-up, so the figures and terms shown to you when you subscribe are the ones that apply. As a matter of principle:

4. Business membership: cancellation

You can cancel a membership at any time by emailing info@mtlocalgoodies.com, or through your account where that option is available. Cancellation stops future renewals. Your listing stays live until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which it is unpublished.

5. Business membership: refunds

Because a membership gives you a live listing for the period you paid for, we do not, as a rule, refund part-used periods after that period has started. If we get the billing wrong, or if we are unable to provide the listing you paid for, we will put it right, including a refund where that is the fair outcome. Nothing here removes any refund right you have under applicable Maltese or EU law, and the specific terms confirmed at sign-up take precedence where they are more generous.

6. Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights, whether as a consumer buying from a listed business or as a business taking a membership with us. If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may also be able to use the relevant Maltese or EU consumer dispute-resolution channels.
